Where the method comes from
Winsly’s method is one person’s career playbook, written down so you can use it and so Winsly can run it on your record. He went from junior analyst to CFO in about ten years, keeping a log of his wins the whole way and asking for the next level at every review.
Why a method?
Most people are taught how to do their job, and almost nobody is taught how to build a career. The method cares about one thing: the slope of your line, meaning how fast your skills, your scope and your reputation are compounding. Title and pay follow the slope, later.
What are its four ideas?
- Get the test defined. Know what the next level requires before you’re measured against it.
- Do the job above yours. Show the next role’s work, not how hard you worked at this one.
- Take on bigger work. Messy problems nobody owns are where new scope comes from.
- Ask every cycle. With the proof in hand: for the level, or for the work that gets you there.
The promotion guides answer the questions people ask on the way, from what it takes to how to ask.
In Winsly
Winsly runs the whole playbook on your record: your wins log, the bar in your manager’s words, a review case where every line shows its source, and an advisor that recommends one next move at a time. The method improves your odds. It can’t promise a promotion, and neither can Winsly. What it can do is show you what your record proves and what would make the case stronger. How Winsly works.
