What Career Compass does well
- One job, one price. A manager-ready case is $24.99 once, with no subscription to cancel (Career Compass). If you need to make the case once, you pay once.
- Pay, in numbers. Pay Position shows where your pay sits against published US benchmarks, which helps when the ask is a raise (how it works). Winsly doesn’t benchmark pay.
- A guide for the meeting itself. A private Conversation Guide suggests a 30-minute agenda, wording for the ask, how your manager might respond, and how to follow up.
- It checks for gaps. Its Case Check asks for at least one piece of evidence in each of its five areas, so an obvious hole shows before your manager sees it (help).
Where Winsly is different
- A record, kept as you go. Career Compass builds one case from the evidence you enter for it. Winsly keeps your wins as they happen, so the case for this cycle, and the next, starts full.
- The bar in your manager’s words. Five fixed areas are a fair general checklist. Winsly measures your wins against what your manager said the next level takes, and shows what isn’t shown yet.
- Every line shows its source. Each line of the case points to the win it came from, checked before you see it. A win a colleague confirmed carries their name.
- Practice, out loud. The Conversation Guide is a document to read. On the Advisor plan, you rehearse the conversation against someone who pushes back the way a busy manager would, then see how you did.

How much is Career Compass’s Promotion Case?
$24.99 once, for one case per account, as of October 2026. It isn’t a subscription. The App Store still lists plans from its earlier coaching app, from $9.99 a month.
Is a one-time promotion case enough?
If the ask is close and your evidence is in hand, it can be. If your wins aren’t written down yet, or you’ll need the case again next cycle, a record kept as you go saves rebuilding it. How to build a promotion case.
Does Winsly show how my pay compares?

Is Career Compass on Android?
No. It’s an iPhone app, sold in the US only, as of October 2026. Winsly runs in a browser, on a computer or a phone.
What happened to the Career Compass AI coach?
In September 2026 the app became Promotion Case, a one-time case builder. Earlier versions were an AI career coach sold by subscription.
